How will digitalization affect our jobs? And how can we shape Europe in a socially responsible and sustainable way?

These and other questions were on the agenda of the cross-border workshop “FutureLabEU”. The event took place in a digital format as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe on November 24-26, 2021.

Together, young people from Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg developed creative project ideas for the Greater Region SaarLorLux and impulses for a digital and social Europe of tomorrow.

With the support of experts from the science and politics, the participants exchanged ideas in two workshops on the following topics:

1. Work, employment and training in the digital age

2. A Social Europe - How to protect and improve the social rights of Europeans

On Friday, November 26th, 2021, the ideas were presented to and discussed with political leaders from the Greater Region, of which Lord Mayor Uwe Conradt as a member of the European Committee of the Regions and Martine Reicherts, former EU Commissioner and President of the "Mouvement européen du Luxembourg".

The cross-border workshop was organized as a cooperation of the EUROPE DIRECT Centers Saarbrücken, University of Luxembourg, Lorraine Grand Est (Nancy) and Territoires Lorrains (Colombey-les-Belles).
