FutureLabEU GREATER REGION

How will digitalization affect our jobs? And how can we shape Europe in a socially responsible and sustainable way? 

These and other questions were on the agenda of the cross-border workshop “FutureLabEU”. The event took place in a digital format as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe on November 24-26, 2021.

Together, young people from Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg developed creative project ideas for the Greater Region SaarLorLux and impulses for a digital and social Europe of tomorrow.

With the support of experts from the science and politics, the participants exchanged ideas in two workshops on the following topics:

1. Work, employment and training in the digital age

2. A Social Europe - How to protect and improve the social rights of Europeans

On Friday, November 26^th, 2021, the ideas were presented to and discussed with political leaders from the Greater Region, of which Lord Mayor Uwe Conradt as a member of the European Committee of the Regions and Martine Reicherts, former EU Commissioner and President of the "Mouvement européen du Luxembourg".

The cross-border workshop was organized as a cooperation of the EUROPE DIRECT Centers Saarbrücken, University of Luxembourg, Lorraine Grand Est (Nancy) and Territoires Lorrains (Colombey-les-Belles).
