Welcome to the State Capital of Saarbrücken!
The neo-Gothic city hall is dominated by the 180 ft / 54 m tower, from which the carillon sounds daily at 3:15 pm and 7:19 pm
Saarbrücken is twinned with Nantes in France, Tbilisi in Georgia and Cottbus in Brandenburg.
The historical origins of Saarbrücken can be found in the ancient world. After the Celts, the Romans came into the area. At the foot of the Halberg, the remaining parts of a heathenish Mithraic temple are still visible.
