Energy is very expensive in Germany. You can save on heating costs and prevent high heating payments. Here are a few tips:
Don’t leave the windows tilted open
It is especially important not to leave your windows tilted open for long periods of time. Instead, you should open them completely a few times a day to let in fresh air.
Another typical mistake is turning the heating off completely during the day and then heating very drastically in the evenings.
The lower the temperature, the lower your heating costs
In your living room, children’s bedroom or bathroom, usually 20 or 21 degrees will be a comfortable temperature. For the kitchen, 18 to 20 degrees should be enough, and in your bedroom 17 to 19 degrees.
Do not put clothing on the heating units!
Do not place furniture in front of the heating units!
