Since studying at Goldsmiths College, Jost Münster (*1968 in Ulm) has been living in London. He is active internationally as an artist and curator and has already been represented in renowned art institutions such as the Victoria Gallery, Portland (USA); Museum 52, London (UK), and the Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart. We can imagine the beginning of his artistic processes roughly as follows: a trip on the tube—rows of houses, urban architecture (gray) facades, (garishly colorful) walls of advertisements, lighting, shadows, relections, space, backdrops gliding past …

When Jost Münster transfers these impressions to the canvas, translating them into color and form, then a process of coagulation takes place that manifests itself on the picture plane. The space occurs in a different place on the plane and becomes truly visible there for the irst time.
